Seasons come and go, but fashion is forever.

Hello Fans of Fashion,

Hope all is well in the world of dress-up.

For my first fashion post, I was inspired by my 2WBT1 label. However, with the item I chose, I couldn't stop at only two. Blazers are the perfect piece to use year round and are generally fairly easy to find secondhand if you don't already own one. My mustard, sweater blazer is one of my favorite items in my closet and the possibilites for it are endless.

Because blazers are such a versatile item, I have decided to show you ways that you can incorporate yours into your look all year long. This week, 4WBT1 because a blazer is the most stellar way to celebrate each of the four seasons.

Spring: Spring is a great time to pull out a mini, but wearing one can leave you feeling chilly in breezy weather. Adding a blazer, allows you to bring out the "sunny weather" items you have been waiting to wear all winter long, while maintaining your warmth on those windy, spring days. With this look, I am wearing a shirt that I have held on to for years. Keep unique items around. They just may cycle back in to style. I have decided to add a strappy wedge to add a little height and a look that is great for the sunlit weather.

Summer: Summer is approaching and it is a fabulous time to mix and match color palettes in order to add a "bright" idea to your look. ;) With this, I added pops of color to an otherwise neutral, strapless, flared-mini dress. Because it is strapless, draping your blazer over the shoulders is superb for a summer evening stroll.

Fall: Fall is a spectacular time for my +a label.  Adding warmer accessories to your outfit will create an autumn ready look. Here, I have decided to add patterned tights, a pair of retro ankle boots with a heal (RR-Embrace Secondhand), and a light weight scarf that I have tied into a bow for my specific style prefrence.

Winter: Winter is the season for layers. Your blazer will be an accomplished item to help you layer in style. In this photo, I have combined my sweater blazer with a snug fit turtle neck, a pair of warm, wedge, winter boots, a wool scarf, and my favorite pair of retro, high waisted pants that were originally owned by my Grandmother over 20 years ago. (RR-Embrace Secondhand.) Adding a belt as an accessory(+a),  may give your look a finished pop of modern flare.

Using one specific item in multiple ways throughout the year, is one way to enhance your wardrobe while saving money. Buying a new item for each season can put a damper on your budget and less room in your closet. Remember, your favorite item is meant to be worn, so don't be afraid to get creative with it.

Stay lovely,
Chandra.tcs

I Have My Mother's "Jeans".

Hello Beauties!    Hope you all have been able to discover some lovely looks while playing dress up in your closets these past few days. This week, I am posting for those of you who enjoy a look that is fashionably funky.    This week I am very excited to show you two ways to wear a very easy to find "hand me down" item. ( RR-Embrace Secondhand ). Anything high waisted is one of my favorite looks for this year. Fortunately, most of you probably have a lady in your life who owns a pair of "Mom" Jeans. If you don't, no need to fret, they are very easy to find at your local thrift store. Look for a pair of high waisted jeans in any color. If they happen to have a wide leg cut, here is a quick trick to help give them more of a modern feel. Step 1: Put on a standard pair of jeans with a wide leg cut. Step 2: In the back, tightly gather the bottom of the jeans and tie a hair tie or rubber band around the bunch you have created. Step 3: Roll the jeans up...

Weekend "T" for three.

Hello Fans of Fashion!    As spring nears its end and the weekend approaches, I am eager to post this week's 2WBT1 item. Using your creativity with basic items is an excellent way to expand the possibilities for your inner fashionista.  Two weeks ago, I featured a fabulous navy, mini skirt.    The most fabulous thing about this mini skirt is that it isn't really a skirt at all. This item is actually a very versatile T-shirt dress. T-shirt dresses are splendid for the buyer on a budget. They are quite easy to find at a great price and are extremely functional.     As a lady who loves fashion and tends to overbook my spring Saturdays, I thought it best to show you three great ways to wear your T-shirt dress on a busy and sunny weekend day.  Wear it as a skirt: Saturday Morning Outing With this look, I chose to wear my T-shirt dress as a mini skirt. To create a look that is both cute and comfortable...

Fancy Feet: Post 1.

Hello Friends of Fashion! It has been far too long. Hope you all have enjoyed these past few weeks and have been able to add summer enhancements to your closets without breaking the bank. For me, this past month has been filled with summer events that have kept me away for a while. Unfortunately, plans for a busy August will most likely continue to keep me away. However, it will be an excellent month filled with party planning, weddings, and concerts. As I may be MIA for most of the upcoming month, I felt I should leave you with a taste of what is to come later this year... This post is a preview for those of you who are, what I like to call, "Shoe-a-holics." ;) Sometimes, I find shoes at thrift stores that seem as though they just need a splash of personal adornment. Other times, shoes that I already own begin to seem repetitive and just need a bit of upgrading. Often times, I simply crave a shoe that offers a unique style and a touch of personality. Being a lover of c...
