'High' on Fashion All Year Long.

Greetings to my Fashionable Friends!

Hope you have all been able to have some fun in the sun this past week.

Just over a month ago, I issued my first fashion post as a brand new blogger. I have been so appreciative of the encouragement from my family and friends. I also feel so blessed to have met some new followers along the way. Thank you to everyone for your love and support. It really adds to the joy this brings to me each and every week.

To celebrate that first post, I have decided to show you another way to make a fabulous clothing item last all year long. As I have said before, high waisted pants are one of my favorite pieces this year. Having the ability to wear them for every season may be what I love most about them. This week, I am featuring a pair of high waisted, wide leg, retro pants that were originally owned by grandmother and handed down to me by my mother. If you don't already own a pair, ask family first. Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, etc. are an excellent source for "hand me down" items. If that isn't an option for you, thrift stores are the perfect place to find a great deal on a pair of retro high waisters. (RR-Embrace Secondhand.)

4WBT1: High Waisted Pants

Summer:

For my summer look, I decided to pair my high waisters with a striped, strapless shirt. Because the shirt and pants are both neutral shades, I added pops of color with a magenta belt and a bright, purple hand purse. When rocking a shirt with bows or ties, wearing little or no jewelry will keep the look simple and sophisticated. Adding a metalic sandal with a mild heel will finish off an outfit that is perfect for some fun in the sun.

Fall:

For fall, I love to sport a layered look. Starting off breezy mornings feeling warm and cozy is simply fabulous until the sun comes out and the temperatures rise. Having the ability to easily remove pieces as the day warms up is perfect for early fall.  A blazer and a scarf with color palettes that welcome the fall are perfect for those cold, autumn mornings. This particular blazer is one I have kept around for many years. Hold on to older items that are unique and durable. They will most likely cycle back into style. Wearing a chunky belt and a tucked in fitted 'T' underneath your jacket will keep the look polished even if you have to remove some pieces for the afternoon sun.

Winter:

Winter is a great time to pull out a fun, faux fur vest. Tucking in a winter white button down and adding a black belt will keep the look classic and effortless. I chose to add a simple maroon necklace and some deep red pumps in order to keep from over accessorizing the look.

Spring:

Spring is the perfect time for bright colors and lace. With this look, I wanted accessories that were bold and unique. For a look that is perfect for warm days, keep the lace simple by adding a dark crop top, tube top, or lace bra underneath. Wearing a thick, tan belt just below the waist line, creates a colorful look and a marvelous shape. A pair of strappy wedges to match your belt and a high bun will finish a look that is great for those warmer, spring days. Bonus: This is a look that can be worn for cooler, summer days as well.

As a fashionista on a very tight budget, I love finding ways to wear items more than once. High waisted pants are a versatile find that will enhance pieces you may already own and give you a classic, chic look. So don't be afraid to rock those pants! And then rock them again and again and again. ;)

Stay Lovely,
Chandra.tcs

"Shirt"-ing the issue: Volume 1

Hello Fashionistas! Hope your closet creativity is booming on this fabulous, first day of summer. Here is to getting outside and enjoying the sunshine! This week's post will be short and sweet, and will hopefully leave you with some inspiration and style adornment. 2WBT1: Tutu Mini A tutu mini is a great item in which to recognize versatility. If you don't already own one and you happen to be crafty, the tutu skirt is moderately easy to fashion on your own. If you are a person who would prefer to save the time and spend the cash, these particular skirts are rather easy to find at a decent price in today's fashion world. Because my tutu mini is my go-to item when I am off to hit the town, I wanted to share with you a couple of ways to wear it. As I always say... Two ways are better than one. Wear it as a skirt: With this, I wanted to create a style that was perfect for a night out on the town.  To generate a look that adds a bit of liveliness and a ...

Fancy Feet: Post 1.

Hello Friends of Fashion! It has been far too long. Hope you all have enjoyed these past few weeks and have been able to add summer enhancements to your closets without breaking the bank. For me, this past month has been filled with summer events that have kept me away for a while. Unfortunately, plans for a busy August will most likely continue to keep me away. However, it will be an excellent month filled with party planning, weddings, and concerts. As I may be MIA for most of the upcoming month, I felt I should leave you with a taste of what is to come later this year... This post is a preview for those of you who are, what I like to call, "Shoe-a-holics." ;) Sometimes, I find shoes at thrift stores that seem as though they just need a splash of personal adornment. Other times, shoes that I already own begin to seem repetitive and just need a bit of upgrading. Often times, I simply crave a shoe that offers a unique style and a touch of personality. Being a lover of c...

"Dress"-ing Up Your Skirt: Spring Edition

Hello Fans of Fashion! In last week's post, I displayed an item that wasn't as it appeared. This week I was eager to reveal that item and how it can be worn with my  2WBT1  label.  Drum roll, please... It is my midi, flare skirt. Midi flares are a fabulous item to own and are lovely for Spring, especially in the Northwest. They come in many different color palettes, allow you to stay stylish and warm on cool, spring days and can be worn in more ways than one.  As a Skirt. Wear it as a skirt. In this photo, I chose to include items that give my skirt a relaxed, spring look. Adding a loose, cotton blouse and some sandals,  give the look a modern, bohemian feel.  I tucked one side of my blouse in and threw on a scarf to give it that extra layer of warmth and style. As you can see, this specific skirt sits low on my waist and hits me at about mid-shin, making it the perfect skirt to get creative with.  As a dress. ...
