Denim '4' Days: The Button Down

Hello Beauties!

It is time to bring out your denim, folks! This week, I am excited to start a new series for my blog..."Denim '4' Days." Denim is timeless and is one of the easiest items to style using a 2WBT1 label. Most of you probably own a variety of denim. If you are looking for ways to reuse and adorn these pieces, this series is for you.

Dress it up.
Dress it down.
At the office.
On the town.
Here are 4 ways to wear your denim.

The Button Down:

Denim button downs are everywhere right now, making them the perfect item in which to kick off my "Denim '4' Days" series. I was able to find this denim shirt at a thrift store (RR-Embrace Secondhand).  Denim has yet to fade out of style and I am quite certain it never will which makes thrifting for denim inexpensive, easy and fun.

Day 1:

For my first look, I chose to give my denim a dressed up feel by throwing it over the top of my favorite LBD (Little Black Dress). Because this dress is bedazzled with sequins, it is the perfect item to help formalize the denim a bit. Bringing in the waist with a thin, black belt will create a flattering shape and a sense of style. Animal prints and/or bright colors on your shoes, nails, or jewlery will add the perfect pop to your outfit this season. Complete the look with some statement rings and/or stacked bracelets.

Day 2:

With this, I decided to look casual in my denim. Colored skinny fit jeans/pants are all the rage right now and are very easy to find at a great price if you don't already own a pair. To keep my outfit relaxed, I stayed with a neutral color. Wearing the denim button down over a loose fitting, striped shirt will help to create the perfect combination of cute and comfy. To finish the look, bring in accessories that add a bit of brightness. I chose to add some stacked bangles I found at a thrift store a while back, a pair of metalic flats that were also found at a thrift store, and a large, red handbag that was handed down to me (RR-Embrace Secondhand).

Day 3:

Here, I wanted a look that felt sexy, yet sophisticated. Joining a lacy, feminine top with a pair of wide leg dress pants is the perfect marriage of sassy and classy. Wearing denim over your lace top will look chic and flirtatious while keeping you from showing too much skin. When wearing a wide leg pant, find a fun pair of platform wedges or heels to keep your pants and your overall look from dragging. Add vibrance to the look by wearing a bright color on your jewlery, belt, and/or shoes.

Day 4:

For my fourth day of denim, I went for a look that was perfect for some time out on the town. Wearing your denim over shirt with a cozy, patterned maxi skirt is a fabulous look for meeting up with friends or outdoor window shopping. Tucking in a textured tank and adding a thin, black rope belt will keep the look complete even if the heat forces you to remove your denim. I added some bangles, a statement pendant necklace, and some comfortable sandals for walking to finish off a look that is both polished and practical.

BONUS look:
Working with denim was way too much fun and the possibilities seemed endless. With a denim button down, I couldn't just stop at four. Here is an extra look just for fun.

This summer is perfect for styling a denim button down with a white, lace top and some colored shorts. Add a pair of wedges and your look is complete.

This week, I am finishing off with a shout out to the beautiful people who snap photos of me for each of my posts. I know that you each have your own careers, hobbies, and interests and I appreciate you taking time away from those things to help me do what I love. I sure am lucky to have such encouraging and selfless people in my life. A big thank you to Momma, Joey, and Kacie.

Here is to wishing you fun and creativity as you play in your clothes this week. Go denim up your life!

Stay lovely,
Chandra.tcs

Seasons come and go, but fashion is forever.

Hello Fans of Fashion, Hope all is well in the world of dress-up. For my first fashion post, I was inspired by my 2WBT1  label. However, with the item I chose, I couldn't stop at only two. Blazers are the perfect piece to use year round and are generally fairly easy to find secondhand if you don't already own one. My mustard, sweater blazer is one of my favorite items in my closet and the possibilites for it are endless. Because blazers are such a versatile item, I have decided to show you ways that you can incorporate yours into your look all year long. This week, 4WBT1 because a blazer is the most stellar way to celebrate each of the four seasons. Spring: Spring is a great time to pull out a mini, but wearing one can leave you feeling chilly in breezy weather. Adding a blazer, allows you to bring out the "sunny weather" items you have been waiting to wear all winter long, while maintaining your warmth on those windy, spring days. With this look, I am w...

Welcome Friends of Fashion.

Hello to All. My name is Chandra. I am a lover of music, fashion, tea, animals, our earth, designing accessories, family and mostly, love. I enjoy collecting tea pots, craft supplies, Compact Discs, nail polish and above all clothing. I have started this blog to focus on just that...clothing. Thanks to my beautiful mother, fashion has been my friend since I can remember. I first fell in love with it as a young girl when I was able to stylize my very first outfit complete with rain boots, ruffled socks, polka dot leggings, a character shirt, and an incorrectly buttoned up rain jacket. And still, as a woman in my mid- twenties, I simply cannot get enough of it. This blog is meant for those of you, who like me, happen to be a buyer on a budget, earth friendly, and/or simply have a passion for the world of fashion. As a lover of the earth, a finder of great deals, and a designer of fashion accessories, I plan to show you ways to recycle and enhance items in your closet while spending lit...
